  • On August 14, 2022, the Ecumenical Church Festival in Norf took place under the motto “From the Middle Ages to Today – Church Communities Norf”, we were also represented there with Solibrot, jam, cookies and eggnog. For the small hunger we served baked potatoes with curd cheese. The children could do handicrafts and painting at our booth.
  • After a long lead time, our KiTa project “Experience Africa with all senses” was finally launched on July 27, 2022.
  • In the St. Michael Kindergarten on Lahnstraße, we were welcomed with open arms. The educators had prepared the children for this day. We decorated the kindergarten in an African way. The teachers and the Menschenbrücken team consisting of Karin Breuer, Ulrike Münch and Ingrid Leifels were dressed in traditional African costumes and the children also had the opportunity to transform themselves into little Africans. The little ones decorated themselves with self-made necklaces and bracelets. They danced, sang and drummed to African music. For breakfast there were African fruits and the highlight was the opening of the coconut. With the help of laminated photos from Uganda, the children were introduced to life there. The children were very open-minded and asked many questions. For lunch, we had the traditional maize paste made from maize flour and chakalaka sauce. The kindergarten children had brought their African cuddly animals from home and continued to learn about animals. With self-made animal masks and binoculars they went on safari. Many thanks to the whole team for this successful day.
  • On August 8, 2022, our journey continued to the Kindergarten Helpenstein. There, too, the joy about our coming was great. The children roared with their animal masks like the lions, strutted like the giraffes and trumpeted like the elephants. They were very interested in life in Uganda and enjoyed African dances.  With the little ones we prepared breakfast and cut banana, mango, pineapple and opened the coconut, then they enjoyed their breakfast. Again, we had corn pap and chakalaka sauce for lunch and we were amazed how good it tasted to the children. On August 20, 2022, there will be an Africa Day designed by the educators. Jam, cookies, etc. will be sold and half of the proceeds will go to Menschenbrücke e.V.. Many thanks to the whole team for their great commitment!
  • Laughter for the Menschenbrücke Under the title “The rain is getting warmer”, the recording studio Keksfaktor presented an Irish musical evening on Friday, 03.06.22 at 19:30 in the parish hall of the Catholic Church in Norf (Norfer Kirchstr. 45) in aid of the Menschenbrücke e.V. association. We were taken on a journey through Ireland and discovered the green island with its imponderables, bizarre occurrences and humorous, bizarre stories about elves, fairies, colorful house doors and – not to forget – sheep, weather, whiskey and Guinness. Many thanks to Michael and Tatjana Auster for their commitment and this enjoyable evening!
